Life Learning's editor Wendy Priesnitz is an award-winning journalist, poet and author of nine books, including School Free - The Home Schooling Handbook and Challenging Assumptions in Education, and a contributor to many others, including Linda Dobson's The Homeschooling Book of Answers and the collaborative Creating Learning Communities. She has also been a magazine and newspaper editor since 1976.

Wendy and her husband and business partner Rolf are the parents of 33- and 34-year-old daughters who learned without schooling, and one of North America's unschooling pioneers. She founded the Canadian Alliance of Home Schoolers in 1979 and continues to speak at conferences across North America about learner-directed education and deschooling society. She has been described in national media as "the high priestess of home schooling" (Today's Parent Magazine) and "an acknowledged home school guru" (National Post newspaper). Wendy and Rolf acted as consultants to John Holt when he was preparing to launch the now-defunct Growing Without Schooling Magazine in 1976/77.
